Proposed redeployment of the Old Grammar School, Richmond

The Council’s Constitution provides that at least 28 clear days before a private meeting (a meeting, or part of a meeting, of the executive decision making body during which the public are excluded) the executive decision-making body must give notice of its intention to hold the meeting in private (including a statement of the reasons for holding it in private) by making the notice available at County Hall and at the venue for the meeting (if different) and publishing it on the Council’s website.

It is anticipated that on 15 Apr 2025 a report regarding proposals in relation to a request to transfer the site of the Old Grammar School, Richmond as a community asset to Richmond Building Preservation Trust will be considered by the Executive. The report will share the outcomes of a recent feasibility study on the site regarding potential future uses and recommend approval, in principle, of the redeployment of the Old Grammar School site to the Richmond Building Preservation Trust subject to the Trust securing the required funding for the planned development, on terms to be agreed by the Corporate Director Resources. The intention to make this key decision is published on the Forward Plan.

The report is likely to contain exempt information. The information anticipated to be contained in the report is of the type defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (Information relating to any individual.) and it is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information. This part of the meeting may therefore be held in private.

This Notice gives notice of the intention to hold this part of the Executive meeting in private.
